49 North® Premium Plus 5000 Heavy Duty Engine Oil is an API CI-4 Plus engine oil designed to meet and/or exceed the most current API service category for modern four cycle, high output diesel engines, including EGR (exhaust gas re-circulation) engines. Drain extendable, it is blended from highly refined paraffinic mineral oils and specially selected additives to provide extra protection in low temperature and extended high speed, high temperature operations. This product has the ability to maintain power in low emission engines and includes advanced soot dispersant agents and high detergency levels designed to protect bearings and other engine surfaces from corrosive and erosive wear.

49 North® Premium Plus 5000 Heavy Duty Engine Oil has a TBN (Total Base Number) of 10.5 which minimizes engine deposits, most notably in critical piston ring groove locations, thus reducing oil consumption and wear during cold weather start-ups when engines are most vulnerable to damage. This product has the ability to maintain power in low emission engines. It includes advanced soot dispersant agents and high detergency levels designed to protect bearings and other engine surfaces from corrosive and erosive wear. 49 North® Premium Plus 5000 Heavy Duty Engine Oil is drain extendable and is formulated to manage and control the soot, sludge, and varnish, commonly encountered in engines operating on low sulfur diesel fuel with EGR (exhaust gas re-circulation).
