Coupling Lube EP #1 is a premium lithium-based grease, incorporating a technologically
advanced additive package consisting of patented polymers and fillers. The high viscosity
base oil coupled with the polymer chemistry minimizes the centrifuging that typically takes
place in high-speed applications. Coupling Lube EP #1 displays an increase in Timken
load (E.P. property), Shell Four-Ball load (weld point and scar diameter) and a significant
improvement in the ability of the product to resist centrifuging (“throw-out”) in comparison
with conventional coupling greases.
Applications: Coupling Lube EP #1 is designed to meet the rigorous demands placed on coupling
lubricants in today’s steel mill drives. Most mill couplings are being driven at elevated
RPM’s and under more load than in the past (and in some cases exceeding design
parameters). The inadequacies associated with conventional coupling greases led
American Chemical Technologies, Inc. to formulate a unique additive package to combat
the speeds and forces as they exist today.
