Castrol Molub-Alloy 3026 Grease with TGOA® and Castrol Molub-Alloy solid film additives were designed for very heavy duty service in applications subject to high rolling and sliding forces, and operating in adverse environments. Through the unique combination of the TGOA and Castrol Molub-Alloy solid film additive systems, these hybrid products are ideal for protecting the key components of rolling element bearings subject to start stop, variable speed applications combined with the shock and heavy loading commonly found in the processing of primary metals. The TGOA additive package out-performs all other EP and antiwear additives because of its unique action on frictional surfaces, while the Castrol Molub-Alloy solid film additives protect against the harmful effects of skidding, high rolling element end loading forces, and high rubbing forces between rolling elements and retainers.

Castrol Molub-Alloy 3026 Grease is produced with a smooth, buttery lithium soap thickener. The base oil is a high viscosity petroleum oil capable of forming a stable lube film able to withstand high continuous loads, shock loads, and vibrations.

The TGOA additive package is activated by high specific loads and corresponding temperatures causing a chemical-physical reaction. This results in an equalization of surface roughness without creating abrasion.

The results of the TGOA additive can be compared with a rolling process in the micro-range. Surface roughnesses are gradually leveled and smoothed when subjected to elastohyrodynamic forces.

The Castrol Molub-Alloy solid film additives are of suspension grade quality. They enhance the surface improvement properties of the TGOA additive system, while producing a tenacious reduced friction barrier between sliding surfaces.

The combination of a high viscosity fluid with a soft, highly mobile thickener permits Castrol Molub-Alloy 3026 to be used in heavily loaded applications operating over a wide range of surface velocities. Excess fluid resistance at high operating velocities is offset by the excellent mobility of the finished product. This helps ensure the continuous flow of lubricant between bearing rolling elements, raceways, and retainers, or oscillating surfaces such as those found in rolling mill slipper couplings.

Corrosion and oxidation inhibitors maximize effective rust protection and excellent grease service life.

Advantages: Reduced rolling and sliding friction due to the effects of the TGOA and Castrol Molub-Alloy solid film additives is most evident under boundary and mixed-film lubrication conditions. This benefit is most pronounced when frequent start up, slow speeds, or high and unexpected sliding occur.

Overall savings are derived from the above and result from less labor and downtime, smoother, more efficient operation with longer parts life, and extended lubrication cycles.
Applications:
Typical applications for Castrol Molub-Alloy 3026 Grease is in ball and roller bearings, bushings, slides, couplings (with the exception of high precision couplings), and general lubrication, especially where high loads and low surface velocities are present.

Castrol Molub-Alloy 3026 Grease is formulated for optimum performance when applied by automatic dispensing systems.
