Marinus Rail Curve Grease (RCG) has been specifically designed to reduce friction between the wheel flange and the rail, especially when curves are encountered. This reduction in friction leads directly to savings in motive energy. Marinus RCG meets or exceeds the performance offered by traditional mineral-based greases. At the same time, Marinus RCG is extremely environmentally friendly because it is biodegradable and non-toxic.

On-going public sentiment and increasing regulatory guidelines implemented by governments have contributed to the demand for lubricants that are environmentally compatible. This is particularly true for once-through lubricants such as rail curve grease.

There is a growing awareness of the potential environmental damage likely to occur when today's lubrication products are employed on rail transportation systems. Maryn International Ltd. was challenged to develop a product equal to or surpassing the lubricating performance of current formulations but one that was environmentally benign.

Maryn recognizes that there is a growing awareness of the damage traditional petroleum based lubricants can cause our environment. Marinus RCG provides you with the answer to the call for environmentally friendly lubricants.

Great care is taken in the manufacture of Marinus Rail Curve Grease to ensure total environmental protection and effective rail curve lubrication. Testing in severe mountain service has demonstrated excellent extreme pressure properties. The unique lubrication film created by Marinus RCG is capable of carrying extremely high loads. This reduces track and wheel wear. Testing using a tribometer, supplied by the American Association of Railways has demonstrated friction reduction equaling that of premium mineral based rail curve grease.

Wide Operating Temperature Range
Marinus RCG has a dropping point of 112oC (230oF) ensuring consistent performance even at extremely high ambient temperatures. At the other extreme, Marinus RCG demonstrates remarkable pumpability at temperatures as low as -30oC (-22oF).

Water Wash
The calcium soap thickener used in Marinus RCG provides excellent EP properties as well as remarkable water wash resistance. This is very beneficial in extending the lubricating film life of the grease. Marinus RCG is fortified with materials designed to increase tackiness thereby extending the carry of grease down the track from the applicator. Again, Marinus RCG results are equal to or superior to premium mineral based greases.

Compatibility
Marinus RCG has been designed to be highly compatible with all of the traditional and synthetic greases currently in use.

Workplace Environment
Marinus RCG makes a very positive impact on the workplace environment. Application and storage areas are remarkably clean. Maintenance staff report a high level of user friendliness.

Biodegradability
Marinus RCG has been formulated with constituents that readily biodegrade, decomposing quickly to carbon dioxide and water. Marinus RCG is recommended for use in environmentally sensitive areas such as National Parks. Marinus RCG contains no petroleum based products or heavy metals, is non-toxic and is readily biodegradable.
