BLUE RIBBON ATF Dexron III/Mercon is a multipurpose ATF designed for new generation, electronically controlled transmissions. It may also be used in previous transmissions built by General Motors, Chrysler, Ford (except where a Ford M2C33-F type product is required), and most foreign manufacturers where DEXRON-IIE, DEXRON-II, MERCON or Type A Transmission fluid is specified. It meets the performance requirements of Allison Transmission Division C-4 and major hydraulic manufacturer's requirements for anti-wear hydraulic fluids.
BLUE RIBBON ATF Dexron III/Mercon is a true multipurpose transmission fluid and provides the following benefits:
Excellent wear protection
Good anti-foam properties
Dyed red for easy identification
Outstanding oxidation resistance
A wide range of seal compatibility
Protection against rust and corrosion
Superior low temperature performance providing good cold-start shifting
Savings from one fluid for virtually all automatic transmission applications
Superior fractional characteristics with excellent friction retention and smooth shifting
Applications: BLUE RIBBON Dexron III/Mercon is recommended for the following applications:
Where Allison C-4 and Caterpillar TO-2 fluids are required
In all automatic transmissions built by General Motors
Where Mercon, M2C138-CJ or M2C166-H fluids are required
Where Dexron-III, Dexron-IIE, Dexron-II or Type A fluids are required
In powershift transmissions, torque converters and hydrostatic transmissions
In some hydraulic and compressor systems where excellent low-temperature fluidity is required
Chrysler recommends Chrysler ATF+3 Fluid be used for complete transmission fluid changes
In most 1979 or newer transmissions built by Ford (exceptions: Ford FMX, pre-1980 C-4 transmissions, and some vehicles requiring Mercon-V)
In imported cars and trucks such as Audi, BMW, Fiat, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Saab, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo
